This classically modern pavilion perches elegantly on the edge of a picturesque river in Kanton Thurgau, shielded from nearby houses by a stand of tall trees. Set back just a short distance from the water’s edge, behind reeds and grasses, this summer house is intended for quiet contemplation.
Bayer rented a pleasure boat during every Cologne furniture fair and had it transformed into a temporary showroom by a well-known contemporary designer to portray the 60s and the 70s era.
Most recently, Alberto Moncada di Paternò opened Babuino 181, 14 suites in a three-story nineteenth-century renovated palazzo on. All of the images in this post are of Babuino 181 where a roof-top terrace will also open in summer 2010 for taking a break from the rigors of window shopping on and from the overload of history and beauty all around.
Good luxury hotel accommodation is difficult to find in the historical and fashion hub of old Rome, but Alberto Moncada di Paternò has been working wonders in the last couple of years to change all that by re-creating three distinct historical boutique palazzo residences.
In July 2009, Moncada di Paternò opened the first of his three properties, Margutta 54, a bright yellow historical villa housing four luxurious suites with added comforts such as a butler. Fabrizio and Andrea Magnaghi, young local architects specializing in hotels, created the ultra-chic, modern Italian décor enlivened with Oriental accents.

Property developer Elevation restored this expansive 12,000 sq ft property. Design Intervention inspired by the majestic architecture completed the interiors of this original late 1920’s to early 1930’s structure in Swettenham Road, whilst remaining true to its heritage.
With all this in mind the black and white scheme was given a fresh look; the designers commenced work in the living room with an understated hue of greys. The bold yellow and grey accents’ simplicity echoed the strong architectural lines of the house.
Green then took precedence over yellow in the dining room, the green tones were dictated by the lush tropical views from the 3 arched doorways looking out to the pool and garden.
In stark contrast with the earthier colour scheme in the family room, Design Intervention used a palette of soft and dark browns, with the use of zebra prints and an array of different textures to create a relaxed atmosphere for a more casual room.
