The Casablanca Influence

Islamic Restaurant – Singapore

The name of this place, Islamic Restaurant, may seem a bit generic, but these guys have apparently been around since 1921 and are known for their Biryani. What most diners have overlooked when enjoying their biryani  is the colourful interiors that is reminiscent of  the colouful atmosphere of Casablanca.

The eclectic French Morroccan influenced interior design of this historic Indian Muslim Restaurant has re-imagined the visual landscape of colourful and atmospheric towns such as Casablanca and Marrakesh, with its rich, vibrant colors, textures, patterns and embroidered wallpaper.

Writers in Casablanca found they could live with minimal needs and still live well; stimulated by the mixing of cultures and a new-found freedom to express themselves. Artists and designers appreciated the quality of the light, high standards of traditional architecture and fine craftsmanship using bright colours and bold abstract designs. Look around the restaurant and you will be inspired by its vibrancy.
